We partner with Deutsche Bank to support their contingent recruitment processes. Acting as an extension of their recruitment teams, we connect them with skilled interim and temporary professionals, fostering workplaces where everyone can contribute and succeed.
On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for a Controls Analyst for a 6-month contract based in the bank's London office on a hybrid working model of 3 days per week in the office and 2 from home.
Purpose of the role:
The role will focus on setting up and executing monthly accuracy and completeness controls for the Delta Net Interest Income key risk metric for DB New York.
What you'll do:
- Build out of the new controls and reconciliations for the DB New York standalone legal entity, ensuring corresponding KOP documents are prepared
- Operational effectiveness testing of the new controls, with corresponding evidence
- Reconcile the simulated Banking Book Balance Sheet back to golden source on a monthly basis for the DB New York standalone legal entity, factoring in external and internal positions
- Investigation of any breaks of gaps at a balance sheet line-item level, working with New York Treasury ALM and Market Risk to understand the plan to resolve issues
- Monitoring of Group strategic balance sheet data feeds, ensuring any DB New York relevant issues are highlighted to New York management
- Working with the Data Sourcing Programme to ensure gaps have a remediation plan in plan
- Ensure KOP documents are prepared for all processes
- Ensure on-time remediation of regulatory findings, and delivery of action item milestones. Preparation of evidence to support finding closure
- Build relationships with stakeholders both within Treasury and with external areas including Market Risk, Group Audit, Technology and Treasury Change
The skills you'll need:
- Relevant professional experience in the financial industry and audit.
- Strong controls knowledge with a good understanding of banking products
- Intellectual curiosity, strong analytical skills and proven ability to solve problems independently, and as part of cross functional international teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to explain complex concepts and results in clear terms
- Time management skills and ability to independently manage several projects/tasks across different topics in parallel
- Experience and understanding of data validation, control execution and analysis. Experience and understanding of the front-to-back Risk and P&L process would be an advantage
- Professional Excel and solid experience with relevant software packages, e.g. BCS (Balance Sheet)
