Position Overview
The Multinationals team is responsible for building and managing relationships with clients in the United Kingdom, including private banks and multi-family offices. The team focuses on developing business opportunities and maintaining strategic long-term partnerships.
As an Account Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic role that supports the growth of PIMCO's Multinationals business. You will be responsible for delivering insightful portfolio analysis and managing client reporting across weekly, monthly, and quarterly cycles. You will analyze economic and market trends, deepen your understanding of public and private markets, and contribute to business initiatives led by the Multinationals Account Managers.
You will collaborate with PIMCO's global network of investment professionals - including Account Managers, Product Managers, and Portfolio Managers - to ensure exceptional client service and assist with business development efforts.
Account Analysts use computer applications to prepare portfolio risk reports, along with weekly, monthly, and quarterly client reports. They also assist with various management initiatives and responsibilities.
This position requires an analytical, detailed professional who can:
- Accurately and efficiently prepare client reports spanning performance, trading activity, portfolio valuation and risk metrics.
- Continually building understanding of underlying market factors to complete more qualitative, complex investment analyses.
- Effectively utilize tools such as Excel spreadsheets, macros, and query tools, along with internet sites, both public and private. Bloomberg and/or Morningstar knowledge is a plus.
- Support the Account Management team through the provision of market and portfolio data.
- Analyse Portfolio data including qualitative and quantitative performance attribution.
- Handle ongoing automation of growing reporting requirements and streamlining of the reporting process.
- Produce ad-hoc client & internal requests for information
- Maintain a commitment to quality and attention to detail; ensure that all work is delivered completed, accurately, and on time.
- Actively listen and ask questions to determine and meet customer needs; go beyond normal job responsibilities to indirectly satisfy the customer.

Education:
- Preference for University degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics or a related, quantitative/analytical field from an accredited, leading business school or university, or other equivalent Advanced Degree.
- Progression toward a CFA (desirable not essential).
- 1- 4 years working in similar role within the asset management or financial services industry.
- Ideal candidates are familiar with fixed income markets and macroeconomics, private assets and derivative instruments.
- Candidates must also possess the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel, both internal and external, and utilize excellent time management and communication skills. Must be team players and self-motivated.
- Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VBA knowledge an advantage), PowerPoint and be comfortable with software applications in general. Possess strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
